Recently, Indian bodybuilder, Thakur Anoop Singh earned the title of 'Mr World' by winning a gold medal in a world bodybuilding meet in Bangkok, Thailand. The athlete was competing against athletes from 47 countries and won a gold medal in the "fitness physique" category of the seventh WBPF (World Bodybuilding and Physique Championships).
However, many athletes in India, like Anoop Singh, do not get the support and appreciation they deserve. Some of these athletes have even won several international prizes and honours but seldom do they receive acknowledgement from the government or the people of this country.
